In residential solar, the equipment for a single job: panels, inverters, racking, and balance-of-system hardware: often runs into the tens of thousands of dollars, and it has to be bought before the homeowner's financing pays out. That gap is the working-capital crunch: the more jobs you sell, the more cash gets locked up in materials you haven't been paid for yet.
